So the title might be a bit deceiving since I don’t actually mean to use toothpaste in place of nails to hang a picture, but rather as a trick to help you hang your pictures straight. If you’re like me, it usually takes me a good three times before I get the nail where I actually want it which leaves two holes in the wall. Ugh!
One simple way to solve that problem is to put toothpaste on the back of the frame wherever you want the nail to go. Then hold the frame in place and push it up against the wall. There should be a dab of toothpaste where the nail needs to go. After you hammer the nail in place, wipe the toothpaste off the wall and hang your picture! It’s as easy as that!

NOT ONLY THAT, BUT IF YOU MISS AND MAKE AN INCORRECT HOLE IN YOUR WALL, YOU CAN FILL IT WITH TOOTHPASTE, LET IT DRY AND DAB A BIT OF MATCHING PAINT OVER IT. IT TOTALLY DISAPPEARS, AS IF YOU’D FILLED IT THE PROPER WAY AND PATCHED. IT AMAZING. I’VE DONE IT FOR YEARS!!
Great tip Linda!
