Thursday Leftovers: Get Creative with Pancakes

HAVE FUN.

Perhaps it’s just the kid in us, but my husband, Jeff,  and I have been making pancake creations for quite some time now. It’s not like pancakes really need any help, they’re perfectly good on their own and usually don’t need a gimmick to get eaten by kiddos, or anyone in fact.  But, pancakes are so much fun when they come in cool and interesting shapes.

Jeff and I usually make it into a competition to see who can make the best pancake creation.  He usually wins, but sometimes I come out of nowhere with a stunning butterfly or near perfect flower.  Oh, and if his doesn’t turn out he just says it’s a dog and Rylan seems to be satisfied with that answer most of the time.  If a holiday is coming up we tend to base our pancake theme around it.

So, the next time you make pancakes, put your pancake artistic skills to the test!  Your kids will love it and luckily for all of us, they’re not harsh critics!
