Lace Flower Tutorial

I’m throwing a bridal shower with two of my friends, Caroline and Lydia, for my friend Izzy tomorrow.  I’ve had so much fun getting ready for it because she is going to be having a vintage inspired wedding which gave me all sorts of ideas for the shower.

Here is a sneak peek at one of the small projects I did for her bridal shower.  When I think vintage, lace comes to mind.  I happened to have some on hand and got to experimenting with it and this is what I came up with– a lace flower that can be made into a hair accessory, clothing accessory, used for gift wrapping, or decorating.  I happened to use it to decorate a twig wreath which you will get to see more of in a later post.

  • lace
  • hot glue gun
  • felt
  • scissors
Game Plan:

1.  Cut a felt circle the size of the flower you want.

2.  Tie a knot at the end of your strip of lace and glue it down to the center of the felt circle.

3.  Begin wrapping the lace around in a circle and gluing it to the felt circle.

4.  When you come to the edge of the circle, wrap your lace around to the back of the felt circle, glue it to the back to secure it, and cut off any extra lace.

Sorry I don’t have step by step pictures, but it really is SUPER easy to make and I don’t think you would need them anyway!

Don’t forget to check back next week to see the wreath I made this flower for, in addition to other vintage bridal shower decor!
