You Make My Head Spin Date Night Idea

Add an extra sense of anticipation to your next simply romantic night by letting a board game spinner make the decision for you.  You’ll both be dizzy with affection for each other.

This is one of the date nights given to wives to plan for their husbands in the book/kit called Simply Romantic Nights.  I tell more about this book in the post Brady Recommends: Simply Romantic Nights.   I loved this one because there wasn’t a whole lot of work I had to put into it besides thinking up some dates and by the time I was done, I had eight romantic dates planned, not just one.

My Take on You Make My Head Spin Date Night

  • spinner from a board game
Game Plan:

1. Find a spinner in a board game (Hi Ho Cherry-O, Twister, Chutes and Ladders, etc) or create your own. It needs to have at least six options.  In a pinch, you can use a die.

I used a Twister spinner and came up with 8 options.

2.  Write out a list of six (in my case eight) simple date nights you and your husband can enjoy together. At least one should include gentle, nonsexual touching. At least one should include lovemaking.  Number your choices.

Here’s what I came up with, keeping my husband in mind and things he enjoys doing.

Right Hand

Red & Yellow: Quick stop by Wal-Mart for candy goodies, followed by a movie at RagTag.

Blue & Green: Order in Papa John’s and curl up to watch Cable Guy.

Left Hand

Red & Yellow: An hour of holding hands and quiet conversation while we enjoy dessert.  Let’s share our best memories from the last year and set some goals for the next.

Blue & Green: Dinner at Ruby Tuesday’s followed by a trip to Bass Pro where we’ll purchase some new fishing tackle for upcoming camping trips.

Right Foot

Red & Yellow: A stroll downtown ending with a night warmed by coffee and hot cocoa, conversation, Rummikub, and lovemaking.

Blue & Green: Buffalo chicken dip followed by an hour full of shooting zombies or aliens as a team on the X-box.

Left Foot

Red & Yellow: Dinner at Longhorn followed by a trip to Wal-Mart where each of get ten minutes to find the best gift for the other with only $3.

Blue & Green: Trip to Wal-Mart to pick out a puzzle to put together and a 2-liter.  Enjoy putting it together on the card table with a movie in the background and homemade popcorn.

Here’s a couple of ideas suggested by Simply Romantic Nights:

~Two extra-large buckets of golf balls at the driving range followed by dinner at Jack’s Place.  You’ll receive a big kiss for every great shot

~A 15-minute back rub for me.  A 15-minute massage for you.

~A bubble bath together followed by making love in front of the fireplace.

3.  Find an evening on the schedule for your simply romantic night (use the sticker if you have the kit so your husband can be looking forward to it).

4.  Find childcare (if necessary).

5.  To build anticipation, four nights before your scheduled evening together, show your husband the “list.” Let him know that one of the items will become the plan for the date night.  Tell him which ideas you hope wins and ask him which is favorite.  Then, pull out your spinner.  His one spin will determine where you’ll go on your date night.

6.  When the night arrives, carry out the spinner’s decision.

If you’re up for it, make another date night soon and let your husband do a second spin.  Mark through the first winning idea so you don’t get it again.

If you like this idea, I highly suggest purchasing Simply Romantic Nights to get all 24 date night ideas.  It’s a purchase you won’t regret!

What date night ideas would your husband enjoy doing?  I would love to have some new ideas and I’m sure everyone else would too!
