With our new hanging cabinets installed, I needed to make a few changes to some of our decor. These pencil holders I had gotten on sale several years ago but was never in love with the finish on them.
I decided they could use a facelift to fit in nicely with the new shelves. Sometimes a project doesn’t have to be complicated or big in size. It was nice to be able to do this one during one of the boys’ and I’s typical days.
- spray paint
- painter’s tape
- acrylic paint
- paint brush
1. Spray paint white.
I did two coats.
2. Paint inner ring cerulean blue.
3. Tape off a stripe.
Painters tape works best but I didn’t have any on hand so I used masking tape instead.
4. Paint stripe cerulean blue.
I did two coats and the sooner you pull off the tape, the better chance you have for a smooth line.
5. Fill your new and improved pencil holders up with pens, pencils, and whatever else you need at your fingertips.
