Have a wedding or bridal shower coming up and don’t know what to get the couple? Want to get them something unique but useful? Put together a card organizer for the couple! It’s the perfect gift because it’s not something likely to be duplicated or thought of by anyone else. Plus, everyone runs low on cards. What a great way to get the couple started off on the right foot. They’ll have all the cards they need as they try to remember to send out cards for ALL of their families’ birthdays the first year of marriage.
- small expandable file
- cards for every occasion
- address labels
1. Buy an expandable file or card box.
I found this zebra print one at Hobby Lobby.
2. Label the tabs with different types of cards.
I used a labeler, but you can just write on the tabs neatly in pen or marker.
Here are the categories I labeled the tabs:
* Only make labels for the items you are going to fill the organizer with. Leave the rest blank so the couple can fill them in with their choice of things.
3. Buy or make cards to fill in the slots.
If you make your own cards, this is a great gift to make. You not only save a lot of money, but the gift is more meaningful because you will have put a lot of thought and work into it.
4. Make address labels with the couple’s new address.
I make 2-3 sheets of different styles and then cut them so they’ll fit into the slots.
5. Buy stamps and fill in the slot.
You can purchase stamps online at USPS and have them delivered. You can buy a book of 20 stamps for $8.80 and they have lots of stamps to choose from! It seems like as a new married couple you spend A LOT of money on stamps so this would be a great way to help out!
The nice thing about this project, is you can do a little or you can do a lot based on your budget. On a tight budget? Skip the stamps and make your own cards! If not, go all out! This is sure to be a gift any bride and groom will love. This project isn’t limited to weddings only though, it’s perfect for Mother’s Day, birthdays, or you may just want to make one for yourself!
