Brady Recommends: Velvet Hangers

Ever annoyed by clothes slipping off hangers?  Hate when you finally decide on a shirt and then when you put it on you realize it has dorky hanger marks? I think I know a solution to both your problems: velvet hangers!

Velvet hangers are great because…

  • the velvet provides a non-slip surface keeping all your clothes in place!
  • are super thin, maximizing your closet space
  • have contoured shoulders to protect your suits’ shape and fabric, minimizing and dare I say eliminating hanger marks

My mom introduced me to velvet hangers.  At first I didn’t know what to think when I opened them at Christmas.  Gee Mom…thanks for the hangers!  Ha, I guess I just wasn’t expecting there to be hangers inside.  Anyway, I now have gotten several more for Christmas and my birthday, but only because I asked.  I am hoping to have a closet with only velvet hangers.

Here are the cheapest ones I found on Amazon.  After 27 reviews they have a 4.5 star rating out of 5.  There are two styles: one with a bottom wire and one without.  They also are available in two colors: black and camel.

If you spend over $25, shipping is free on Amazon and if you have an Amazon Mom account you get free two-day shipping with no minimum purchase!

My suggestion is to keep with one color of hanger because it creates a clean look in your closet.  I unfortunately have white, pink, and blue velvet hangers and it makes me cringe a little when I think about it.  Make sure to order enough in case they change their colors.
