Bills for Books Part 2

MAKE MONEY.

Have any unwanted books lying around? I came across another site that buys books back and can’t believe I missed it the first time around– Amazon.com!  I just made $44.32 selling three books back to Amazon!  This is one of my favorite sites and I totally missed the fact they bought back books.

If you didn’t see my first article on how to get some money for your old books then I suggest you check out Bills for Books Part 1.  If you did, well here’s a new place to retry some books or maybe decide to depart with some others.  That’s how I came across the site.

I had a Shakespeare book that was really cool and well, makes me look smart, and I wasn’t willing to part with it the first go around of selling books back.  The more I thought about it, the more I became curious to see what I could get for it.  I tried www.textbooks.com and www.cash4books.net and the highest quote given to me for the book was from textbooks.com for $30.  I was willing at that point, then I came across Amazon and they quoted me $40.12!  They were also willing to pay me for The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens which neither of the other sites would buy back.  Lastly, I found another book I was willing to part with and so I ended up selling back three books:

pile of books

1         Between Vengeance and Forgiven    1 ISBN: 0807045071       $3.00

2         The 7 Habits of Highly Effecti    1 ISBN: 0780786653       $1.20

3         The Riverside Shakespeare, 2nd    1 ISBN: 0395754909      $40.12

Total:  $44.32

Game Plan:

1. Gather your books you want to sell and go to Amazon.com: Textbook Buyback

2. Enter in the ISBN numbers or the title of the book

If your ISBN number doesn’t work, try typing in the title

3.  Follow the directions on the site if you decide to sell any of your books

4. Amazon offers free shipping and you can print off a shipping label

I chose USPS and just put the box out by my mailbox for my letter carrier to pick up

5. Package your books as they suggest and ship them according to what you pick

cardboard box full of books and packaged for the mail

Include packaging material and the packaging list in the box.

cardboard box full of books ready to be shipped to amazon

Make sure to cover entire shipping label with packaging tape in case of rain

6. You will not get a check in the mail, but instead a gift card to Amazon.com.

This is as good as cash to me because we buy A TON of stuff off of Amazon.  If you don’t, I’m sure you can find something and if not, this may not be the place to see your books back.

See how I got money for selling back books to textbooks.com and cash4books.net.

What did you make selling your books back to Amazon?
